THE COLLEGE
The Chamber of Commerce Manali Ramakrishna Polytechnic College was founded by Chamber of Commerce Educational and Charitable Society. The assembled members resolved to teach Alphabets, but, in technical subjects, and decided to start a polytechnic in the Private sector, under the management of Chamber of Commerce Educational and Charitable Society, Thanjavur, Registered it in 1983. The land fore housing the polytechnic extending to 25 acres in Kuruvadi village, Thanjavur, was donated free of cost by Sri Manali Ramakrishna Mudaliar, Hereditary Trustee of Sri mangadu Kamatchiamman Koil, Chennai, and the institution had been named after Chamber of Commerce Manali Ramakrishna Polytechnic, Thanjavur. Chamber of Commerce Manali Ramakrishna Polytechnic was started in the year 1984 and nearly 1200 students are studying in this institution. The following nine Diploma Courses are being conducted in this institution.

SPECIAL FEATURES

LABORATORIES: The Chamber of Commerce Manali Ramakrishna Polytechnic College Laboratories are designed in a sophisticated manner. They are well spacious, ventilated, and have enough resources to do the lab experiments for the students. Well spaced Physics and Chemistry Laboratories equipped with adequate instruments add value to the basic science department. Main Computer Lab functions to make the students avail the latest Software and Hardware Technologies.

INFRASTRUCTURE: Spacious Classrooms with sophisticated furniture specially designed in modern management style to facilitate easy interaction in the classroom. Well designed seminar hall, conference hall and interview all facilities.

TRAINING AND PLACEMENT: Training and Placement Cell is an integral part of our institution. The institute has provided the complete infrastructure for effective functioning of the cell. Various companies are invited for Campus interview for final year students. Students are being motivated in presenting papers on various topics at various Colleges and Universities. In-plant training is arranged during vacation period in construction industries.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT: We provide industrial visit to students to various industries in India due to which the students are able to know the latest technology used in different industries.

DEPARTMENTS: The Engineering Department is to provide the students with a solid scientific and technical background and research capabilities in the design, development and also has all the facilities in teaching and learning processes and as well demonstrative facilities through various laboratories. Students are being motivated in presenting papers on various topics at various Colleges and Universities. In-plant training is arranged during vacation period in construction industries.

LIBRARY: The Library has developed an excellent collection of books, journals and non-book material in science, engineering, technology, humanities, social sciences and management. A large number of CD-ROMs and audio cassettes are a supplementary digital resource offered.

FACULTY: Highly Qualified and experienced staffs contribute to the Major strength of the College. Each department is headed by an experienced faculty and supported by Lectures. Most of the faculties are all post graduates with teaching experience.

INTERNET: Exclusive Internet facility for students to get access to the Cyberspace is provided in the computer lab, which the students utilize for gaining the international knowledgebase.

Extra-Curricular Activities: Special emphasis is given to extra-curricular activities like Club, Fine Arts, and Sports. The College has NSS and NCC Scheme units and it organizes various awareness programs on Rain Water harvest, AIDS, Health and Hygiene, Literacy etc. Personality Development Courses like leadership training, Effective public speaking, Time Management, Positive thinking and interview techniques are taught.

HOSTEL: Complete, hygienic and fully furnished hostel is provided by the management for both gents and ladies separately. The rooms are safe, secure, clean and airy. Students enjoy delicious, quality and homely vegetarian and non-vegetarian food. Menu is prepared to satisfy the taste of all students. Their stay in the hostel enables them to imbibe a different life style and involve in activities such as yoga, meditation, sports, music etc., suiting to their individual taste and preferences.

TRANSPORT: A full fledged transport department functions in the college with buses to provide transport facility to students and staff from various places.

SPORTS: The Institutions have well groomed play fields for cricket, basketball, volleyball, football and tennis and an international standard indoor stadium housing the games like basketball, badminton, table tennis and squash. Separate gyms for men and women are also available within the Campus.

CAFETERIA: The College offers excellent cafeteria facilities and food items are supplied in each block at subsidized rates. At present there are three cafeteria in the College.
